SANTA MONICA:  George Clooney and his wife Amal are officially parents! “This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine,” publicist Stan Rosenfield said in an email according to Reuters. Adding in jokingly that, “George is sedated and should recover in a few days.”

The couple, who quickly stole the hearts of America, met in 2013 through a mutual friend and married in a lavish ceremony in Italy in 2014. Amal is a human rights lawyer who practices in the USA and UK.  In addition to being an actor, Clooney is an activist and philanthropist, who constantly strives to end atrocities happening throughout the world.  He, however, has made it clear that his family comes first, canceling his most recent trip.  He was set to go to a humanitarian event in Armenia this weekend, but said, according to Reuters, that, “if I came there and my wife had twins while i was there, I could never come home.”

This is both Amal and George’s first child and although the pair have kept quiet about Amal’s pregnancy, the world was quick to offer their Congratulations.

Ellen DeGeneres on Twitter: “Welcome to the world, Ella and Alexander Clooney. Congratulations, George and Amal, or as I’m now calling you, Ocean’s Four. / Twitter”
